Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; set aside.
3. In a large bowl, cream together sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Beat in vanilla extract.
4. Add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients in three batches, alternating with the buttermilk, and beating until just combined. Beat in melted chocolate.
5. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
6. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack and let cool completely.
7. To make the frosting, beat together the raspberry jam, powdered sugar, cream cheese, melted butter and cream until light and fluffy.
8. Spread frosting over cooled cake, then top with edible snowflakes.
